UNC's Blue-White Scrimmage Game Returns, On the Move

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will host its annual Blue-White scrimmage game on Oct. 22, 2023, at the Dean E. Smith Center's Roy Williams Court. Doors will open to the public at 11 a.m. While the scrimmage is free to attend, seating is first-come, first-served. Parking will be free in all campus lots. The event coincides with the University's Homecoming festivities.

Hubert Davis' Third Season at the Helm

This will be the third season for head coach Hubert Davis with the Tar Heels. In his first two seasons, Davis has led the team to a 43-21 record, including a Sweet 16 appearance in the 2022 NCAA Tournament.

Davis has brought a new style of play to Chapel Hill, emphasizing up-tempo offense and aggressive defense. The Tar Heels are expected to be a contender for the ACC championship this season, with a roster that includes several talented players, including preseason All-ACC selection Armando Bacot.

A Look at the 2023-24 Tar Heels

The 2023-24 Tar Heels will be led by Bacot, a 6-foot-11 center who averaged 16.3 points and 13.1 rebounds per game last season. Other key players include:

• Caleb Love, a 6-foot-4 guard who averaged 15.9 points and 3.6 assists per game last season
• RJ Davis, a 6-foot-2 guard who averaged 13.5 points and 3.9 assists per game last season
• Leaky Black, a 6-foot-8 forward who averaged 4.6 points and 4.3 rebounds per game last season
• Puff Johnson, a 6-foot-8 forward who averaged 6.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per game last season

The Tar Heels will also welcome several talented newcomers to the roster this season, including:

• Jalen Washington, a 6-foot-10 forward who was ranked as the No. 11 overall recruit in the 2023 class
• Seth Trimble, a 6-foot-3 guard who was ranked as the No. 21 overall recruit in the 2023 class
• Tyler Nickel, a 6-foot-8 forward who was ranked as the No. 35 overall recruit in the 2023 class

With a talented roster and an experienced head coach, the Tar Heels are poised for a successful season in 2023-24. The Blue-White scrimmage will give fans a chance to get a first glimpse of the team in action.
